Outback Inverter and Generac RV QP55D Diesel Generator Example
Using Remote Port Connection
The GSCM-mini-d accepts Outback is a two wire (switched 12VDC) generator start/ run signal to a 3 ,4 or 5 wire start/ stop
pre-heat signals for several diesel generators. The Generac RV QP55, 65, 75,85D series diesel generators are a common RV
generator. By using the generators remote control plug connections to connect the GSCM-mini-d's start and stop/pre-heat
contacts, and the AC output makes for an easy installation. When the GSCM-mini-d receives a start/run command from the
Outback inverter it energizes the K2 relay which energizes the two relays are used to isolate the glow plug circuit from the
shut-down circuit causing the glow plug to heat. After 10 seconds it energizes the K1 relay to start the generator. The AC
signal tells the GSCM-mini when to disengage the starter when starting and when the generator has stopped when shutting
down. The generators combination switch should be placed in the 'ON' position for the GSCM-mini-d to be able to auto
start/stop the generator.
