To assemble the liner cap using the teat cup assembler,

use the following procedure:

Step 1

Bolt the teat cup assembler to a sturdy surface.

Advance the cup over the support post on the cap tool

adapter, and check to see that the cup is properly

centered around the post. If an adjustment is necessary,

loosen the screw holding the post to the support bracket,

reposition the post, and tighten the screw. Then, check

the cup and post again. If necessary, shim or file between

the cap tool adapter bracket and the assembler.

Step 6

Position the cup against the cap (see Figure 4), and drive

the cap onto the shell weight using the tool handle.

Step 2

Remove the wire cage and plunger from the assembler.

Then, assemble the cap tool adapter and cup to the

assembler, as shown in Figure 3.

Step 4

Position the shell weight over the support post on the cap

tool adapter, aligning the key on the weight with a flat side

of the post.

Step 5

Press the small end of the cap over the narrow end of the

cone. Then, insert the cone into the shell weight.

Step 7

Withdraw the cup, remove the shell weight from the tool,

and pull the cone out of the cap.
