1. Put a fresh 9v battery in, or plug in any 9v to 18v regulated DC power supply.
2. Run cables* from your guitar to the input jack, and from the output jack to your amp's
input. Set in the desired place on your pedal board. (We prefer it early in the chain.)
3. Start with the Treble, Bass and Drive at 12 o'clock and Level at lowest setting. Set your amp
level appropriately.
4. Engage the Dirty Deed Distortion by pressing the footswitch – the LED will come on when
it's active.
5. Bring the Level up to the desired volume, then start experimenting with the controls.
*Be sure to use good quality, unbalanced, shielded guitar cables to keep the noise to a
minimum. Cheap cables, in addition to making you the target of abuse from your bandmates,
can introduce handling noise (microphonics) and affect the signal to noise ratio of any pedal.

As you've probably figured out, the Dirty Deed Distortion can produce a huge range of tones
from big, chunky power chords to searing, singing lead sounds. The settings below and on the
next page are great starting points.
Fat Rhythm/Lead Tone
This is a great all-around sound for power chords, arpeggiated
rhythm lines and leads alike. Big, fat, and saturated.
