Maintenance for your Play System & User Guide
Maintenance of the Play System is very important and should be carried out at the beginning of each season, as
well as at regular intervals during usage, to ensure that the Play System remains safe. Failure to carry out these
checks could cause the Play System to overturn or become a hazard.
To maintain this Play System check the following points:
Check all nuts and bolts for tightness and tighten when required. If they have sheared, replace them.
Check all screws to ensure they have not sheared and replace where necessary.
Check all anchors are secure and tighten or replace if required. If the ground anchors are pulling out of the
soil, dig them in again and cover them with concrete.
Oil all mechanical moving parts, e.g. Swing hooks.
Check the main structural pieces of wood for evidence of deterioration and replace when required. Please
note that minor cracks will naturally appear in the wood and should not affect the structural strength of the
Play System.
Check green plastic coverings for bolts and replace these when required.
Check swing seats, ropes and other means of attachments for evidence of deterioration and replace if
required. Remove swinging ancillaries when not in use to avoid damage by abnormal weather conditions.
In addition to these points, to keep your climbing frame looking good, you can also apply a wood
stain/preservative periodically if desired.
Make sure it is compatible with tanalith 'E' pressure treated timber.
