Troubleshooting

The Epi-Care® free is developed with focus on ensuring maximum safety for the user and
ensuring potential errors are noticed immediately.
As part of the safety measures, the Epi-Care® free performs a self-test during start up and
daily use. Should faults occur, the control unit will emit a continuous audible alarm tone, LEDs
will light red and the text "ERROR" appears in the display.
See table below for troubleshooting.

Safety in case of power failure

The control unit is dependent on a power supply. In case of a power failure, the Epi-
Care® free control unit will continue for some seconds by means of an integrated
backup battery, and will go into alarm mode before being shut down.

Replacing sensor battery

After an estimated 2 years use, the sensor battery will not be able to accumulate
power for 24 hours of use from each charge. The sensor battery can be replaced.
Contact the distributor for replacement. Unauthorised opening of the sensor will void
the warranty.

Repeaters

The range between the sensor and the control unit can be extended by use of
repeaters. Contact your distributor for further information.
SIM-card faults
If the SIM-card is PIN locked, remove it from the Epi-Care® free and insert it in a cell
phone. Then power up the phone and remove the PIN lock permanently using the
phone's settings. Afterwards the SIM-card can be inserted into the Epi-Care® free and
it should no longer display GSM: SIM LOCK in on the control unit.
If a SIM-card error occurs after short-term use, insert the SIM-card into a phone
and try making a call to the alarm number. If this proves unsuccessful, the SIM-
card or the associated subscription is not operational.
In case of low GSM signal, the cellular network coverage is insufficient to
guarantee dispatch of alarm calls. Try relocating the Epi-Care® free control unit
towards a window or similar. Routinely check the cellular reception by reading
the number of bars in the display, see page 9.
