Description
The CAST Hand-Held Device Programmer, Part No. CAPROG, is a portable tool that assists
commissioning / maintenance personnel with setting device addresses and testing device
operation.
The Programmer is compatible with the full CAST analogue detector range and other CAST
protocol devices, as listed below:
CAST Analogue Fire Detectors, CAST Manual Call Points, CAST Sounders/VADs, CAST Voice
Item Supplied with the Programmer
1 x Remote Connector Lead (shown right).
Device Connections
Note that the Programmer's power may be on or off when connecting / disconnecting devices.
Once connected, ensure that loop power is OFF, as indicated by `LOOP OFF´ displayed top-left
on the Programmer's LCD. Note that when the Programmer's main menu is displayed, loop
power is off.
Connecting CAST Head Devices: Twist-fit the device's head directly into the Programmer's base.
Ensure the device head `clicks´ securely into the base.
Connecting CAST Manual Call Points, I/O Units and CAST Ancillary Devices: Using the remote
connector lead (supplied), connect from the Programmer's two jack sockets (black & red) to the
device's connector block or screw terminals. Ensure correct polarity; red connector (positive) and
black connector (negative).
