RBH Features
RBH Series Cabinets are designed to offer the ultimate in sound quality and
stage flexibility. They can be played in several positions, upright, stacked on
their sides, or rocked back for close monitoring situations. A unique interlock-
ing corner design allows the cabinets to lock together in various positions.
Horn Bi-Amp (HBA) System:
All RBH cabinets include a passive crossover for standard operation or may be
used with GK's unique Horn Bi-Amp (HBA) System.
HBA compatible amplifiers use an electronic crossover to split the signal
between the main amplifier and a separate horn (tweeter) amplifier. The
horn amp sends signals above 5kHz to the horn while the main amplifier
sends a full range signal to the woofers. Optionally you can engage the
Woofer High-Cut to to cut signals above 5kHZ from the main amplifier. Both
signals are delivered to the cabinet via a single 4-conductor high current twist-
lock cable. This arrangement does two things for the sound:
1) Electronic crossovers, can be far superior to the passive crossover found in
full range speaker cabinets, providing a more seamless, accurate sound.
2) With separate power amps for the horn and woofer, the artist can overdrive
the woofer power amp (creating the desired growl) while keeping the horn
amplifier clean and undistorted.

1) High Current Twist-Lock Connector:
A Speakon® compatible connector which allows for Horn Bi-Amp (HBA)
operation when using the 4-conductor twist-lock speaker cable provided with
GK HBA compatible amplifiers. Pins 1+ and 1- connect the main amplifier
to the woofers in the cabinet. Pins 2+ and 2-, connect the horn amplifier to
the tweeter. By using only pins 1+ and 1- this connector may also be used for
full range operation when Full Range mode is selected.

2) Mode Switch:
Switches between Horn Bi-Amp (HBA) mode and Full Range operation.
When using this cabinet with a GK HBA compatible head such as the
1001RB-II, this switch should be set to Bi-Amp. For operation with non HBA
amplifiers this switch should be set to full range.
3) Full Range ¼'' Input:
Using a standard ¼'' speaker cable, this input jack provides full range
operation with any bass amplifier head. HBA mode will not work with this
jack.
4) High Range Attenuator:
Adjusts the volume level of the horn when the cabinet is in full range mode.
When used in Bi-Amp mode with an HBA compatible amplifier like the
1001RB-II, this control is bypassed and the horn level is adjusted by using the
Tweeter control on the front panel of the amplifier.
Horn Bi-Amp Mode:
When the mode switch is set to Bi-Amp, the passive crossover is bypassed and
the cabinet may be used with an HBA compatible head such as the GK
1001RB-II. Use a 4-conductor, high current twist-lock speaker cable (supplied
with GK HBA amplifiers) to connect the head to the cabinet Adjustments to
the tweeter and woofer signals are controlled from the amplifer's front panel.
(the High Range attenuator in the cabinet is bypassed). Now you can push
the woofers to the max., while the tweeter remains clean, crisp and free of
clipping distortion.
Full Range Mode:
The RBH series cabinets are configured for full range operation by setting the
mode switch to Full Range. In this mode you can use either the ¼" or the
twist-lock connector for operation. If you are using the twist-lock connector,
make sure the amp positive lead is connected to 1+ and the amp negative
lead is connected to 1- on the connector. In this mode the cabinet is setup for
full range operation and the tweeter level is controlled by the High Range
control on the RBH cabinet.
Stacking RBH Cabinets:
To insure the safe setup of the RBH series cabinets and a GK amplifier please
follow these basic procedures. When stacking multiple 115RBH and 410RBH
cabinets never place them so the handle sides are facing one another. The
cabinets' handles should be oriented to the left and right sides of the unit and
not the top and bottom. (See "Detail A") When stacking a 210RBH cabinet
on a 115RBH or 410RBH, place the 210RBH on an upright, non-handle side
of the other cabinet. (See "Detail B") When using a single cabinet, the
amplifier may be placed on either the non-handle (See "Detail C" on page 4)
or handle side (See "Detail D"). Stacking multiple 210RBH cabinets is not
recommended. All RBH cabinets can be tilted back like a floor monitor.
