Use Device Manager to verify that the adapter is installed. See
Troubleshooting Step 2 for instructions.
Troubleshooting
1 How do I use the power jack on the adapter?
• Most FireWire devices have their own power supply. 12V/2A DC adapter
(not included) is required to use with any FireWire devices without an
AC power adapter.
2 My computer isn't recognizing the FireWire adapter.
• Remove the adapter from the ExpressCard slot of your laptop and
re-insert it into the ExpressCard slot until it's firmly seated.
• Repeat the device driver installation procedures.
• Check the Device Manager to see if the device is recognized.
1 Click Start, right-click My Computer (Windows 2000 & XP) or
Computer (Windows Vista & 7), then click Properties.
2 Click Device Manager.
3 Double-click IEEE 1394 Bus host controller.
 • For Windows 2000 & XP:
• Click OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394 Host Controller and make sure
that there are no conflicts. Conflicts are indicated by an entry with
a red X or a yellow exclamation point (!). If a conflict is found, see
Windows Help for more information.
• For Windows Vista & 7:
• Click LSI 1394 OHCI Compliant Host Controller and make sure
that there are no conflicts. Conflicts are indicated by an entry with
a red X or a yellow exclamation point (!). If a conflict is found, see
Windows Help for more information.
4 To update the adapter driver, right-click the adapter, click Update
Software Driver, and follow the on-screen instructions to update
