CP-1000
The CP-1000 is designed with a high volume of media to maximize its life and performance. As contami-
nant levels in our drinking water continue to increase it becomes increasingly important to purify your
water before using it. Unfortunately, elevated levels of chlorine, chloramines and contaminants also
impact the length of time a filtration system will perform effectively. Monitor your system and water
quality accordingly and replace your CP-1000 when there is a noticeable return of off-tastes or odors.
Do not use your CP-1000 for more than 10 years or 1,000,000 gallons. System life is dependent upon
the types and amounts of contamination present in the water. The capacity rating of 7-10 years assumes
typical municipal water quality conditions.
The CP-1000 will address a full array of inorganic and organic contaminants while leaving beneficial
minerals in the water. Water pH should be within 6.5 – 9.0 for optimal performance. Water hardness
does not typically impact performance.
It is suggested that you consult a licensed plumber to perform your
1.
Read all precautions, installation and operating instructions carefully and
completely before installing the unit.
2.
Do not install this filter where the line pressure may exceed 100 psi. The
operating pressure range is 30 to 100 psi.
3.
Install on cold water lines only. The operating temperature range is 40°-
100°F (4°-38°C). Protect unit from freezing and also from direct sunlight or
high heat.
4.
Do not install unit on its side.
5.
Use Teflon tape, not pipe dope, for thread sealing.
6.
Installation of the filter must comply with existing state or local plumbing
codes.
7.
Use only warm soapy water to clean the outside of the housing. Rinse well
with fresh clean water. Never use chemical cleaning products on the filter's
exterior surface because they may damage the filter housing.
8.
This product is not intended for use with water that is microbiologically
unsafe or of unknown quality without adequate disinfection before or after
the unit.
9.
As with any plumbing lines, fittings or fixtures the CP-1000 may produce
condensation when the water is cold and the ambient air is humid. In these
conditions, you may protect the floor from moisture by wrapping a large
towel around the base of the unit.
10.
The CP-1000 is a purification system and it should be installed upstream of
(before) a water conditioner or softener.
