Step 3:

Apply the mesh grip as follows:

a) Take a 2-foot piece of the 1/4-inch flame-

retardant mesh grip and press an end

inward so that it expands (Figure 4).

b) Maintain the mesh end expanded and

place the connector in the mesh

(Figure 5).

c) Proceed to inch the mesh up the assembly until 18 inches of the mesh is covering the

assembly end, leaving 6 inches to tie off (Figure 6).

Step 4:

Starting about 1 inch up the cable from the end of the mesh, tape the cable assembly end and

mesh grip using a 1/2 width overlap and keeping a flat lay of the tape. Continue to tape the

cable assembly and mesh grip together until you are about 1 inch into the mesh grip

(Figures 7 and 8).
