Cleaning / adjusting
The spark plug must be free of combustion residues to
the spark plug:
ensure that the motor functions correctly. Only spark plugs
of type Champion RZ7C or equivalent may be used.
1. Unplug the spark plug connector
2. Unscrew the spark plug

3. Clean the spark plug

adjust the electrode gap to 0.6 - 0.7 mm by
bending the electrode
4. Check sealing washer
5. Screw in the spark plug

6. Tighten the spark plug

– 1/2 a turn for a new spark plug
– 1/4 to 1/8 of a turn for an old spark plug.

Replace petrol filter:
The petrol filter must be replaced after one year or
every 300 operating hours.
1. Unscrew petrol cap

Rinsing / cleaning the pump:
Clear water should be used for rinsing.
1. After pumping chlorinated swimming pool water, rinse the
pump with warm water (max. 35 °C).
2. Remove deposits and foreign bodies in the cooling ribs
with a soft brush.
Maintenance work is not covered by the guarantee.
You may be charged for maintenance work performed by
GARDENA.

7. Trouble-Shooting
v Before eliminating faults, switch the motor off and allow
to cool down. Then remove the spark plug connector
(see "Clean spark plug").

Cleaning the turbine:
If the turbine clogs it must be cleaned.
1. Unscrew the 6 Allen screws
Allen key (size 10).
2. Remove housing cover
3. Clean the turbine.
4. Mount the housing cover

Disassembly of the hydraulic unit other than removing
the housing cover must only be carried out by GARDENA
Service.
