1.3.3 Additional electrical safety warnings

This product makes an electromagnetic field while it operates. This
field may under some conditions interfere with active or passive medical
implants. To decrease the risk of conditions that can possibly injure or
kill, we recommend persons with medical implants to speak with their
physician and the medical implant manufacturer before you operate the
product.
v Do not use or store damaged batteries. Immediately dispose the defective
battery correctly.
v Only connect the charger to the AC voltage specified on the rating plate.
v Do not connect an earth wire to the product.
v Do not use the product when a thunderstorm is approaching.
v Protect the battery contacts from moisture.
1.3.4 Additional personal safety warnings
DANGER!
Risk of suffocation!
Small parts can be easily swallowed. There is also a risk that the polybag
can suffocate toddlers.
v Keep toddlers away when you assemble the product.
v Do not overload the product (Use according to the user manual).
v Do not use close to water.
v Only use the lopper in the manner and for the functions described in these
instructions. The operator or user is responsible for accidents or hazards occur-
ring to other people or their property.
v Pay special attention to the hazard for third parties posed by the increased
working radius when the telescopic tube is extended.
v Always wear suitable clothing, gloves, and stout shoes.
v Check the areas where the lopper is to be used and remove any wires, hidden
electrical cables and other foreign objects.
v Put the protective cover on for all adjustment work (tilting the cutting head,
changing the telescopic tube length)
v Do not put the lopper on the cutting head.
v Check the machine before using and after any impact for signs of wear or
damage
v Let the appropriate repair work be carried out if necessary.
v Do not attempt to use an incomplete product or one with an unauthorised
modification.
1.3.5 Power tool use and care
Know how to stop the product quickly in an emergency.
v Do not hold the product by the protective cover.
v Do not use the lopper if the protection equipment are damaged.
v Do not use ladders whilst operating the lopper.
v Always use the lopper when standing on solid ground.
v Remove the battery:
• before leaving the lopper unattended for any period;
• before clearing a blockage;
• before checking, cleaning or working on the lopper;
• if you hit an object. Do not use your lopper until you are sure that the entire
lopper is in a safe operating condition;
• if the lopper starts to vibrate abnormally. Check immediately.
Excessive vibration can cause injury.

All nuts and screws must be firmly tightened to ensure a safe operating condition
of the product.
v Let the lopper cool down before storage If the the lopper got hot during operation.
v Do not store the lopper over 35 °C or under direct exposure to sunlight.
v Do not store the lopper in places with static electricity.
v Beware of falling debris.
v Only work in the daylight or when visibility is good.

2.2 To assemble the branch hook (only for Art. 14774 / 14776)
[ Fig. A3 ]:
The branch hook is used for easy removal of cut branches from the tree
crown and shrub.
2.2.1 To assemble the branch hook:
v Slide the branch hook

3. OPERATION

v Slide the protective cover over the blade.
3.1 To charge the battery [ Fig. O1 / O2 / O3 ]:
CAUTION!
The voltage of the power source must match the voltage specified on
the rating plate of the charger.
v Note the mains voltage.
For the GARDENA Battery Loppers Art. 14772-55 / 14774-55 /
14776-55 there is no battery and no charger in the scope of
delivery.
Thanks to the intelligent charging process, the charge condition of the
battery is automatically detected and then charged up with the optimal
charge current depending on battery temperature and voltage.
In this way, the battery is treated with care and remains permanently fully
charged when it is stored in the charger.
