Accessing the RJ-45/RS-232 Console Port
NOTE: Before starting this procedure, be sure that you have a terminal emulation program already
installed on your PC.
The DB9 RS-232/RJ-45 console port is labeled on the lower left-hand side of the switch as you face the
Utility side of the chassis.
1.
Install an RJ-45 copper cable into the console port. Use a rollover cable to connect the console port
to a terminal server.
2.
Connect the other end of the cable to the DTE terminal server.
3.
Set the default terminal settings as follows:
a) 9600 baud rate
b) No parity
c) 8 data bits
d) 1 stop bit
e) No flow control
