CATAPHORETICALLY TREATED AND POWDER-COATED STEEL
Properties:
Cataphoresis is an effective anti-corrosion treatment. The parts are immersed in a soluble paint bath which is then
passed through by an electric current that deposits the paint evenly, including edges and hollow parts. Steel garden
furniture is particularly vulnerable to oxidation if it is not treated properly. Cataphoresis is a quality treatment that
will effectively protect items in most locations, except by the sea.
Maintenance and storage:
A soft cloth or sponge, lukewarm water and a neutral cleaning agent (pH value ~7) are sufficient for removing light
contamination. Cleaners outside of this pH range will damage the surface.
Never use:
• scouring or abrasive agents
• cleaners containing solvent
• strongly acidic or alkaline solutions
• steel wool
• gasoline or thinner
Dry cleaning should also be avoided, as this can cause scratches on the surface.
Steel, even if treated, may be subject to corrosion, which must be treated as soon as possible to prevent it from
spreading. In this case, apply an anti-rust product.
On a daily basis, regular cleaning with warm water and soap will be sufficient to preserve the furniture. Wipe well
with a soft cloth to avoid any traces of limescale.
Steel screws and bolts on garden furniture require regular maintenance to prevent corrosion. Simply apply an an-
ti-rust spray at the beginning and end of the season. If the furniture is exposed to the sea, it should be treated every
three months.
Grease and oil adhere very well to steel because of its smooth surface. Specialised cleaners and degreasers can be
used to remove them. To avoid staining, never treat steel in direct sunlight. The surface temperature should never
exceed 25°C when cleaning.
To avoid permanent stains or discolouration, do not place decorations permanently on the furniture. Any water that
may have entered the frame through the screw holes can be drained off by removing the foot caps. To avoid stains
on the floor, this should be done on a durable surface. This procedure is particularly recommended against frost, so
that water does not freeze in the tubes.
FSC EUCALYPTUS
Properties:
Eucalyptus is robust and weatherproof and is very hard-wearing and durable. Even in the event of climatic changes,
it does not deform very much. Nevertheless, it is necessary to renew the protective oil once or twice a year in order
to maintain a long service life. The wood should not be left without its protective oil layer. When first used, the colour
pigments retained in the wood may be washed out by rainwater, which may result in water spots on the wood and
stains on the floor. Especially on light-coloured tiles, sandstone tiles or other porous floors, we recommend that the
table top is repeatedly sprayed with water on a hard surface before use, in order to accelerate the washing out of
the colour pigments.
Maintenance and storage:
Dirt can be gently removed with a brush, a little water and soap solution. We recommend cleaning at least once or
twice a year. We recommend that you regularly apply exotic wood oil or other suitable wood care products. Make
sure you follow the instructions for use and safety. When treating the wood (cleaning, sanding and applying main-
tenance products), always work in the direction of the wood grain and follow the instructions of your oil. We strongly
advise you not to cover the furniture during the summer months and to winterize it in a dry and ventilated place.
