The tape does not record.
• No tape is loaded. Load a tape.
• The tab has been removed from the tape. Cover
the broken tab with adhesive tape (page 41).
• The tape has wound to the end.
The Deck A does not playback reverse side.
(MHC-GX9000/GN660 only)
• The Deck A only playback front side of the tape.
This is not a malfunction.
If the system still does not
operate properly after performing
the above measures or other
troubles does not described
above occur, reset the system as
follows:
Use buttons on the system for the operation.

Unplug the power cord.

Plug the power cord back in.

Press ?/1 to turn on the system.

Press x, ENTER and ?/1 at the same time.
The system is reset to the factory settings. All
the setting are cleared. You should set the
settings you made, such as the preset stations,
clock and timer.
Messages
One of the following messages may appear or
flash in the display during operation.
CD/MP3
NO STEP
You have cleared all the tracks you programmed.
OVER
You have reached the end of the disc while turning
and holding m M clockwise (or pressing M
on the remote) during playback or pause playback.
No Disc
There is no disc in the system.
Push STOP!
You pressed PLAY MODE during playback.
Step Full!
You tried to program more than 25 steps.
Reading
The system is reading information of the disc. Some
buttons are not available.
Tape
No Tab
You cannot record the tape because the tab has been
removed from the tape.
No Tape
There is no tape in the tape deck.
Timer
OFF TIME NG!
The on time and off time of Play Timer or Timer
Recording is same.
SET CLOCK!
You pressed CLOCK/TIMER SELECT before the
clock is set.
SET TIMER!
You pressed CLOCK/TIMER SELECT before Play
Timer or Timer Recording is set.
PUSH SELECT!
You tried to set the clock or timer during timer
operation.
