Installing the 3Com
11 Mbps
®
Wireless LAN Access Point 6000 takes
as little as 60 seconds. Plug it into a
power source and a switch or hub (if
it is to be connected to a wired LAN),
and the access point becomes immedi-
ately visible to wireless clients. DHCP
support allows automatic assignment
of client IP addresses without any
manual configuration.
The Access Point 6000 also
features Clear Channel Select and
Power-over-Ethernet, which further
simplify installation and ensure
quality connections.
Easy to Use
The access point is extremely easy
to configure. After launching the
management software tool, a list of all
access points on the respective IP
subnet is displayed. Once the access
point to be configured has been
selected, an intuitive directory will
provide step-by-step guidance
through the configuration process.

have 40- and 128-bit WEP encryption
(where allowed by law) and user
authentication available for up
to 1000 users.
