Insert the cut end of the string all of the way into the hole in the tuning peg's post and bend it 90°.
While pulling the string toward the bridge to maintain string tension, turn the tuner machine to wind the
string around the tuning post. The illustration below shows the direction in which the strings should be
wound onto the posts and the direction the pegs should be turned. Make sure the string is wound toward
the base of the post as shown in the illustration below.
At this time the strings may cause the bridge to lean make sure the bridge is vertical. Also, make sure
each of the strings are positioned in their corresponding slits.
* Make sure the tailpiece side of the bridge stands vertically in relation to the body.

Use a piano, tuning fork, tuner, etc., and adjust the pitch of each string using the tuning pegs.
* Refer to the "Tuning" section (page 7).
• When the instrument is not going to be used for an extended period of time, loosen the strings until the
pitch drops a whole tone.
• Before using the instrument, make sure that the bridge is positioned vertically. Damage to the bridge and
poor sound quality may result if the bridge is not properly positioned.
