BATTERY OPERATION
Auto Power Off
Should the system be left on, running solely on battery power, the system
will automatically turn off after approximately 20 minutes of inactivity to
conserve battery power. To turn system back on, place the main power
switch in the "Off" position and then back to "On".
Battery Module Service Life
Since the Batteries are designed for multiple cycles of charging and dis-
charging, the expected cycle life of the Intelect Advanced Battery Module
is at minimum 500 cycles utilizing proper discharging and charging proce-
dures.
When the service time (use time between charges) of the Intelect
Advanced Battery Module is significantly reduced, the service life of the
Intelect Advanced Battery Module is exceeded and should be replaced
with a new Chattanooga Intelect Advanced Battery Module.
DANGER
• Never, under any circumstances, open the battery module
housing or cells. Should an individual cell from a battery
become disassembled, spontaneous combustion of the
negative electrode is possible. There can be a delay
between exposure to air and spontaneous combustion.
• Dispose of NiMH batteries according to national, state and
local codes and regulations.
Storage of Battery Module
Short Term Storage
The Intelect Advanced Battery Module should be operated, transported
and stored in temperatures between 15° C and 40° C (59° F and 104° F),
with Relative Humidity ranging from 30%-60%.
Long Term Storage
For long term storage of the Intelect Advanced Battery Module, remove
the battery module from the system and store in temperatures between
15° C and 40° C (59° F and 104° F), with Relative Humidity ranging from
30%-60%.
When charging the Battery Module for the first time after long term
storage, restore the battery service life by charging and discharging the
Battery Module several times.
If storing the Battery Module for periods longer than one year, charge the
Battery Module at least once per year to prevent performance deteriora-
tion and battery leakage due to self-discharge from storage.
