Connectors and Interface Cables

The scanner is equipped with two half-pitch 50-pin SCSI connectors. The

interface cable supplied with the unit is also equipped with corresponding half-

pitch 50-pin connectors at either end.

SCSI connectors and interface cables come in a variety of shapes that are

mutually incompatible. Even if the device and cable are based on the same SCSI

standard, they cannot be connected if their connectors are different shapes. If

you are using a SCSI card other than the one supplied, check the connector at

the computer end (the connectors on the SCSI card or another connected

device) before attempting to use the supplied interface cable. If the connector is

different, purchase a generic SCSI interface cable (high-impedance type) with the

correct mix of connectors.

If you are using an interface cable other than that supplied, ensure that it is

the high-impedance type. The scanner will not recognize non-high-imped-

ance interface cables.
