Power factor (cos φ) regulator
Installation and user manual
Installation
Verify that the regulator supply voltage is consistent with
the voltage of the power grid (440, 230, 110V). The
power factor correction regulator shall be wired as
shown in the diagram below, with the fuses protecting
against short circuit as shown.
Description of the terminals:
§
T1 and T2: wires k and l (L lower case) from the
secondary coil of the current transformer (CT)
installed on the fase L1 (R).
§
S1 and S2: regulator power supplì and supplì
measurement. Connect to the phases S1=L2 (S)
e S2=L3 (T)
§
C: the common terminal of the bank control
§
1, 2, 3, 4: Capacitor banks control.
Programming
Change the regulator to manual mode by pressing MAN-
AUT for more than 3 s, however until the MAN LED is
ON. Verify that all the batteries are switched off (led 1-4

off), otherwise proceed as described in the section
"manual operation", or power OFF and ON again the
regulator.
Verify that there are no alarm (ALM LED lit), otherwise
press the SET button until the LED ALM turns off.
Verify that the 7 light fields on the left of the display
(NAV) are turned off, or press the SET button until all the
segments are OFF.
Push and hold the button SET for 3 s until the
appearance of the written PAR. In the box NAV will
appear the blinking letter P.
To scroll through the menu parameters, press the SET
button; to change the values, press the buttons ▲ e ▼
The programmable parameters are:
A01
current of the primary coil [A] of the connected
current transformer (CT); values 5 .. 10 000
(steps 5, 10, 50, 100)
A02
rated power [kvar] of the installed capacitor
bank in the position showed by the led 1..4;
values 0.1 .. 6500 (steps 0.1, 0.5, 1, 2.5, 10,
...)
A03
rated voltage of the grid [V]; values 80 .. 1000
(step 5)
A04
minimum re-connection time of the same bank
[s]; values 5 .. 240. Make sure that this value is
greater than the capacitor discharge time

To save the data, press SET repeatedly, scrolling
through all the menu parameters (A01-A09), then exit
the programming mode
To change the setting of the target cos φ (SET PF) and
of the sensitivity see next chapter "Parameter Display"
Parameter Display
Exiting the programming mode the display shows the
value of the power factor (PF) currently measured in the
plant.
Warning: If the power factor appears to be inconsistent
with that expected one (capacitive value or close to
zero) reverse the connections to terminals T1 and T2.
The switching on of one of the seven
segments of the more left digit (NAV)
indicates the parameter currently
displayed on the other three digits on
the right side of the display. The
temperature is indicated by lighting of
the decimal point. After 30 seconds of
the selected parameter display, the
regulator returns to the initial display of
the power factor.
Pressing the SET button the following parameters are
displayed in sequence:
