Futureguard® FlexShade Zip™

ALTERNATE MOUNTING

(Zip 127 Angled Only)
If the system is installed in a recess, it is unlikely that there will be
sufficient space above the Side Channels to allow the Headbox to be
mounted onto them after the channels are installed. In these instances,
we recommend using the wall/permanent mounting procedure.
The minimum depth of the ceiling pocket for the Flex Shade Zip 92 is 4¾"
(120mm), and for the FlexShade Zip 127 is 6¼" (158mm). See Fig. 17.
The FlexShade Zip operates on 110-120V, 60 Hz. current. Shade is shipped with internal wiring complete and
supplied with a 6' cable lead (standard). Longer lead can be substituted by removing two screws in motor end
of roller, removing lead, plugging new lead in, and replacing screws. Wire to connect shade to switch(es) and
switch(es) to power supply should be furnished by installer. Connections should be made in accordance with
attached wiring diagram, and wiring should comply with national and local electrical codes.
DO NOT wire 4-wire motors in parallel without written permission from Futureguard.
All operating switches should be "off" before power is connected.
PROGRAMMING AND LIMIT SWITCH ADJUSTMENTS
INITIATE PROGRAMMING
Connect AC to one motor at a time. Select the transmitter/channel
you want to use. Press and hold both the Up and Down buttons
simultaneously until the motor jogs, then release (a jog is a short up
and down movement of the motor).
CHECK/CHANGE THE DIRECTION
Check the direction of operation (the motor will operate in momentary
fashion). Confirm that the Up button brings the application up or in. To
change the direction, press the Stop button for more than 5 seconds
until the motor jogs, then release. Check the direction.
SETTING THE LIMITS
Start at and upper reference point (upper limit). Press both the Stop
and Down buttons simultaneously until the motor begins to rotate,
then release. Stop the motor where you want to set the lower limit.
Adjust if necessary by pressing the Up or Down buttons.
Press and hold both the Stop and Up buttons simultaneously until
the motor rotates up, then release. Stop the motor where you want
to set the upper limit (or it will stop automatically at the initial upper
reference point). Adjust if necessary. Press the Stop for 5 seconds until
the motor jogs. The limits are now recorded.
Press the Programming button for 3 seconds until the motor jogs to
record the transmitter for user mode (the motor operates in maintained
fashion).
