Set up or hang the article in a safe place on a dry surface.
Do not place any heavy objects on the article.
Do not place any containers fi lled with liquid, for example
vases, on or directly next to the article.
Never immerse the article in water or other liquids!
Never touch the article with damp or wet hands.
Protect the article from heat, naked fl ames, sub-zero tempera-
tures, persistent moisture, wet conditions and collisions.
The article must not be used if it shows obvious signs of
damage.
Do not insert pointed objects (needles, scissors, etc.) into the
item (patch panel) - it could damage the LEDs.
The individual LEDs cannot be replaced.

Check the items supplied for completeness and transport dam-
age. If you fi nd any damage to the components, do not (!) use
them, but contact our customer service department.

Inserting / Changing Batteries
Three batteries (1.5 V, AA type) are required for battery
operation. These are not supplied with the articles.
Before inserting the batteries, check whether the contacts on the
article and on the batteries are clean, and clean them if necessary.
1. Open the battery compartment (X): Undo the three screws
with a cross-head screwdriver and remove the cover.
2. If necessary, remove the used batteries and insert three batter-
ies (1.5 V, type AA). Pay attention to the correct polarity (+ / –).
3. Close the battery compartment: Place the battery compart-
ment cover back and fi x it in place with the screws. When you
do this, make sure that the locking lugs sit in the recesses
which are provided for them.

Operating
1. Attach or set up – Attach the article at a suitable height on a
wall using suitable fastening materials.
Make sure you follow the safety instructions for assembly.
The article can also be set up on a fl at, dry surface.
2. Insert batteries – insert batteries into the article (see "Insert-
ing / Changing Batteries").
3. Select and insert – Select the desired letters, numbers and
symbols (X) and insert in the peg board (X).
4. Switch on / off – To switch on the article, move the On / Off
switch (X) to position I.
To switch the article off again, move the On / Off switch to posi-
tion 0.
Cleaning and Storage
PLEASE NOTE!
Do not use any strong or corrosive cleaning agents, rough
sponges or knives to clean the article. This might damage the
surfaces.
1. Remove the batteries from the article (see "Inserting / Chang-
ing Batteries").
2. Clean the article and all accessories with a soft cloth and a
little mild detergent if necessary.
3. Thoroughly dry the article and all accessories before it is
reused and / or stored away.
4. Store the article in a dry place that is protected from sunlight
and is not accessible to children and animals.

Disposal
Dispose of the packaging material in an environmentally
friendly manner so that it can be recycled.
This article is governed by the European Directive 2012/19/
EU on waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE).
Do not dispose of this article as normal domestic waste, but
rather in an environmentally friendly manner via an offi cially
approved waste disposal company.
The batteries should be removed prior to disposal of the
article and disposed of separately. To protect the environ-
ment, non-rechargeable and rechargeable batteries must
not be disposed of with normal household waste, but must
be taken to suitable collection points.
