Installation of the SquawkBox only requires that power be supplied to the unit and a connection made to the CobraNet
network.
If the SquawkBox is to be powered using PoE, then simply
Attach the CobraNet I/F port to a spare PoE-enabled port on a PoE switch using a CAT-5 cable. If a mid-span

injector is being used, connect a spare input port to the CobraNet network switch using a CAT-5 cable, and then
connect the corresponding output port to the CobraNet I/F of the SquawkBox.
When powering using an optional external 12 V DC supply:
Attach the CobraNet I/F port to a spare port on the CobraNet network switch using a CAT-5 cable.

Attach the power supply to the power input jack and then power up the external supply.

When powered, the LCD backlight should turn on, and the unit will show its name and software version number for a couple
of seconds before reverting to show the description of the audio being played. If the unit has yet to be configured, "CH1"
will be displayed.
