General installation instructions for HELIX components
To prevent damage to the unit / module and possible injury, read this man-
ual carefully and follow all installation instructions. This product has been
checked for proper function prior to shipping and is guaranteed against man-
ufacturing defects.
Before starting your installation, disconnect the battery's negative ter-
minal and all cables from the device to prevent damage to the unit / mod-
ule, fire and / or risk of injury. For a proper performance and to ensure full
warranty coverage, we strongly recommend to get this product installed by an
authorized HELIX dealer.
Install the HELIX Digital Input Module only in the designated device and
its specific slot. Using the module in other devices or slots can result
in damage of the module, the amplifier, the head unit / car radio or other
connected devices!
Note: These modules can only handle stereo input signals and no MP3- or
Dolby-coded digital audio stream!
Important: The signal of a digital audio source normally does not contain any
information about the volume level on the outputs of the amplifier. This may
cause severe damage to your speakers. We strongly recommend to only use
volume controlled audio sources!

SPDIF Direct In function
The SPDIF Direct In function allows to bypass the input gain stage and routes
the audio signal directly to the internal power stages. The result is a per-
fect, digital signal chain for High-Res music enjoyment.
To activate the direct signal routing of a channel pair you have to set the
SPDIF Direct In switch to "On". Additionally the appropriate channel pair of the
amplifier must be operated in fullrange mode. Any further information about
the fullrange mode will be found in the respective instruction manual of the
amplifier.
Note: If the switch is set to "On" position the lowlevel line inputs as well as the
level controls of the amplifier are disabled.
