combination   o f   t he   t hree.   T he   R ocketRAID   2 711   s eries   c ontroller   s upports   t he   f ollowing   R AID   t ypes:  
RAID   0   " Stripe"  
Speed:   D ata   i s   a lternated   a cross   t wo   o r   m ore   d rives   t o   g ain   s peed   b y   e ssentially   d istributing   t he  
workload.
  
Protection:   N o   b uilt-­‐in   p rotection.  
Capacity:   U sable   s pace   i s   t he   c ombined   c apacity   o f   a ll   t he   d rives.  
 
RAID   1   " Mirror"  
Speed:   N o   s peed   b enefits   g ained.   
  
Protection:   O ne   d rive   c an   f ail   a nd   a ll   d ata   w ill   s till   b e   a ccessible.    
Capacity:   O ne   d rive   w orth   o f   u sable   s pace   o ut   o f   t he   t wo   t otal   d rives   u sed.  
 
JBOD   ( Independent   D rive   M odes)  
Speed:   N o   s ignificant   s peed   g ains.
