Warnings
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following:
Read all instructions, product labels and warnings before using the food dehydrator.
Do not touch hot surfaces. Use oven mitts when removing hot trays.
To protect against electrical hazards, do not immerse the cord plug or the power unit of the dehydrator in water or other
liquid. Do not wash in sink or dishwasher.
This dehydrator should not be used by or near children. Keep out of reach of children
Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off the trays.
Do not operate any dehydrator with a damaged cord or plug, if the dehydrator malfunctions or if it has been damaged in any
manner, return the dehydrator to an authorized service facility for repair or replacement.
The use of accessories or attachments other than those supplied or recommended by the manufacturer may cause hazards
and will void your warranty
This dehydrator is for indoor, household use only.
Do not use appliance for other than indented use.
Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
Do not place dehydrator, cord, trays or any other parts on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
Operate the dehydrator only in a clean dust-free area. Dust and dirt can be drawn into the dehydrator and can contaminate
the food being dried.
Do not place the dehydrator on a towel or on carpet. This will reduce or cut off the dehydrator's airflow and could result in
damage to the appliance.
Never cover or obstruct the ventilation holes at bottom of power unit and top lid.
This dehydrator must be connected to a 120V AC electricity supply only.
Always leave at least 12 inches of space around the dehydrator on all sides for proper ventilation.
Do not operate near combustible or pressurized spray cans.
To clean the power unit, unplug from wall outlet and wipe with damp cloth or sponge and mild soap. Do not immerse power
unit or cord in water. Top lid and trays may be submerged in warm water and washed with mild soap or do not place power unit,
lid or trays in a dishwasher.
Before each time you operate your food dehydrator make sure to wash and dry the trays and any other parts which will
contact food.
The first time you turn on your food dehydrator you may notice an odor. This is normal. To avoid odor from being transferred
to the food, place one tray covered with lid on the base of the unit, and following instructions, allow the unit to run for 20
minutes without food in place until the odor is gone at 155° F. This is only necessary the first time you use the dehydrator.
Do not operate this dehydrator on flammable material such as a wood surface tablecloth, cooktop or cutting board. It is
imperative that an additional heat-resistant cooking surface such as tile, Formica or any surface protected with a heat resistant
finish at least the size of the unit or larger be placed underneath this unit. This will serve to protect the surface beneath from
heat that can be generated by the dehydrator.
This dehydrator has a polarized plug. One prong is wider than the other. As a safety feature, this plug will fit in a polarized
outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contract a qualified
electrician. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature.
A short power supply cord is provided to reduce the risk resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a long cord.
Longer extension cords are available and may be used if care is exercised in their use. If an extension cord is used, the
marked electrical rating should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the dehydrator. The cord should be arranged so
that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tipped over unintentionally.
Never place the food on the power unit at any time
Make sure the drying trays are securely nestled on top of each other and on the unit's base.
Never cover or place food on the center hole in the trays or the vents on the top lid.
Prevent liquid from dripping on power unit by thoroughly drying food and food trays before operation. Failure to do so will
cause electrical shock and fire hazard.
