Sewing a ladder stitch hem
> Select a 3-thread flatlock stitch wide (LN) and thread the machine.
> Adjust the stitch length to 2.5 – 4.5 mm.
> Position the guide of the presser foot in the middle between the needle
and the knife.
> Mark the hem depth (wrong side on wrong side) and iron the hem.
> Fold the hem back so that the lower fabric edge lies on the right next to
the folded edge. (Fig. 3)
> Place the fabric under the presser foot and push the folded edge against
the guiding plate of the presser foot. (Fig. 4)
> Sew a few stitches. Check, whether the seam can be stretched flat easily. If
the seam puckers, position the guide on the presser foot closer to the nee-
dle. (Fig. 5)
> Sew the hem.
Tip:
> For stretch fabrics, use the 2-thread flatlock seam wide (LN).
