USING THE GARDEN GROOM
Note: Either the waste container or the Mega Bag must be attached for the Garden Groom
to operate.
1. SWITCH ARRANGEMENT
The Garden Groom
®
trimmer will operate when the
main switch and the front switches located on the
front handle are depressed. To operate the main
switch, you must first push the safety switch.
3. VERTICAL TRIMMING (Side of Hedge)
Move the Garden Groom
®
trimmer in a vertical sweeping action, ensuring the flat underside of the ma-
chine is level with the surface of the hedge (Fig. 1). Tip: For a tighter professional finish, bury the head
of the machine into the hedge, to the desired depth, working the machine upwards (Fig.2). To trim long
stalks growing parallel with the surface of the hedge, move the head down in the opposite direction to the
growth (Fig. 3).
Please note: The capture rate of material is reduced using this angle of cut.

2. HORIZONTAL TRIMMING (Top of Hedges)
Move the Garden Groom
®
trimmer in a sweeping
pendulum motion from side to side. The flat underside
of the Garden Groom
®
trimmer provides a natural
guide, so the most inexperienced gardener can achieve
excellent results.
TIP: The Garden Groom
®
trimmer has been designed
to cut growth of up to 1 year in age, 0.4 inches in di-
ameter and 7 inches in length. Use on heavier material
may result in damage to the machine.

4. TRIMMING EXTRA LONG GROWTH
The Garden Groom
®
trimmer has been designed to trim hedge growth of 7 inches in length or less.
However, it will trim exceptionally long growth, but this operation will inevitably result in a lower rate of
capture (on vertical cuts only), due to the sheer dynamics and volume of material to be managed.
To trim exceptionally long growth (within the recommended cutting diameters), we advise the following
techniques: Trim the growth in several stages (see Fig. 4 below) layering down, until you arrive at the
desired level.

In some circumstances you may wish to adopt a vertical technique (see Fig. 5 below) bringing the Garden
Groom
trimmer down onto the growth in a vertical action.
