2. Safety Instructions

Warning ! Electric shock !
Risk of injury due to electric shock.
➔ Always unplug your Electronic Pressure
Pump before filling, after operation,
when trouble-shooting and before
carrying out any maintenance work.
Location
Caution: Pursuant to DIN VDE 0100-702 and
0100-738 use of the pump near to swimming
pools and garden ponds and other similar
places is only permissible if the pump is
operated via a residual-current device (FI switch)
with a residual current rating of
pump must not be operated when there are
persons in the swimming pool or garden pond.
The pump must be located on solid, even
ground, protected from flooding. Take care that
the pump cannot fall into water. As an additio-
nal safety device an authorised safety switch
can be used.
➔ Please ask your electrician for advice.
Extension cables
Data indicated on the type plate must match
technical data of the mains supply.
Pursuant to DIN VDE 0620, power cable as
well as extension cables must not have a
smaller diameter than rubber sheathed cables
described with letter symbols H07 RNF.
Protect the power cable from heat, oil and
sharp edges.
➔ Do not use the power cable for carrying the
pump or for unplugging.
In Austria
In Austria, the electrical connections must be
made according to ÖVE-EM 42, T2 (2000)/
1979 § 22 based on § 2022. Pursuant to this
regulation it is imperative to operate pumps for
swimming pools and garden ponds exclusively
via an isolating transformer.
➔ Please ask your electrician for advice.

3. Function and Display

In Switzerland
In Switzerland mobile appliances which are
used outdoors must be connected via a
residual-current device.
Visual check
➔ Before operating the pump, first make a
visual check, if there is any damage to the
pump (especially regarding power cable
and plug).
A damaged pump must not be used.
➔ In case of damage, please have the pump
checked by our GARDENA Service Centre
or by an authorised electrician.
Safety in operation
30 mA. The
➔ Protect the pump from rain. Do not use the
pump in a wet or moist area.
In order to avoid dry-running of the pump, take
care that the end of the suction hose is always
submerged into the water.
➔ Before each operation, fill the pump to
overflowing with approx. 2 to 3 l of water to
be pumped !
When in manual mode for troubleshooting, the
pump may not be operated for longer than
10 min. with the output side closed (1 cycle).
The pump must not perform more than 4
suction cycles (duration 4 minutes respectively)
one after the other.
➔ Allow pump to cool down before further use.
Sand and other abrasive substances in the
water cause increased wear and reduce the
pump's output.
➔ Use a preliminary filter on the pump if the
water is sandy.
The minimum flow rate is 140 l/h (= 2.3 l/min).
Watering accessories with lower rate must not
be operated.
When using the pump for domestic water
supply, please adhere to the local water and
sewerage regulations. In addition observe the
regulations of DIN 1988.
➔ If necessary, contact your local water authority.
The Electronic Pressure Pump is electronically controlled. The
electronic control is activated by pulses from the manometric switch
and from the throughput detector of the dry-running preventer.
The manometric switch is set to a switch-on pressure of approx
2.0 bar (= 20 m head) at the factory. The dry-running preventer
protects the pump from damage by turning the pump off if necessary.
