Viewing the Display Screen
This list identifies the symbols you'll see on your display screen.
shows your current signal strength.
The more lines you have, the stronger your signal.
means your phone cannot find a signal.
tells you a call is in progress.
indicates you are "roaming" off the network available to you.
indicates you have voicemail messages waiting.
Press and hold
to call your voicemail box.

indicates you have a text message.
indicates your phone is in vibrate mode.
shows your current battery charge strength.
(Icon shown fully charged.)
Tip:
Display indicators let you know when you're off the network
available to you and whether you are operating in digital mode.
Features of Your LG 1010
Congratulations on the purchase of your LG 1010. This phone is
lightweight, easy-to-use, reliable and offers many significant features:
Single-band capability provides access to other digital networks
where the network available to you has implemented roaming
agreements (page 11).
Text messaging lets you receive e-mail messages on your phone
(page 35).
The built-in Scheduler lets you schedule alerts to remind you of
important events (page 65).
One hundred ninety-nine Internal Phone Book entries store up to
five phone numbers each (page 47).
Speed dialing lets you dial phone numbers by pressing one or
two digits (page 23).

Getting to Know Your New Phone
Using the Battery
Battery Capacity
Your phone is equipped with a Lithium Ion (LiIon) battery. It allows you
to recharge your battery before it is fully drained. The battery provides
approximately 150 minutes of continuous talk time or approximately
6 days of continuous standby time.
When the battery reaches 5% of its capacity, the battery icon blinks. When
there are approximately two minutes of talk time left, the phone sounds
an audible alert every 30 seconds and then powers down.
Note:
Long backlight settings, searching for service and vibrate mode
affect the battery's talk and standby times.
Tip:
Be sure to charge your phone's battery and watch your indicator to
ensure your levels are okay.
Installing the Battery
Your phone comes with a LiIon battery. Follow these steps to install it:
Place the battery in the opening at a 45-degree angle with the metal

contacts at the bottom, facing downward.
Gently press down on the battery until the latch snaps into place.

Removing the Battery
To remove your battery for charging, or for any other reason, follow these
easy steps:
Make sure the power is off so that you don't lose any stored numbers
