Product Introduction

2N® Lift8 Splitter helps extend installations where communications units from multiple shafts are to be interconnected
(communicators can be connected directly to the Central Unit in single-shaft installations). It is connected to the Central Unit via 6
wires (power supply, audio, data). The audio units are connected to the splitter via a two-wire bus. In addition, the splitter contains
a NO / NC contact for the lift blocking function. There can be up to 7 splitters (depending on the count of lift shafts). Each splitter
must be assigned a different address (lift shaft number) to make the system work. The address is set to 2–8 (lift 2–8). Address 1 is
the Central Unit. The splitter connection is serial, i.e. inline. No parallel connection is possible. Parallel connection would make the
Lift8 system unstable. A terminating jumper has to be connected to the last splitter or I/O module (the farthest one from the CU).
Description
Main Bus Connection
Take the push-in terminal board out of the main bus connector and connect the six wires from the Central Unit. Maintain polarity
(power +–, audio + -, data + –), see the splitter cover label, to make the Lift8 system work properly.

Audio Unit – Splitter Bus Connection
Interconnect the splitter and the audio units using a two-wire bus. Maintain polarity again.
Address Setting
Set the splitter address for the given lift using a 10-position switch 0–9.
Set lift 2–8 to 2–8 (e.g. set the switch to position 5 for lift 5).
