Before you begin
First you m u s t configure the w i r e i e s s network settings of your m a c h i n e to c o m m u n i c a t e with your w i r e l e s s a c c e s s
pcint/rcuter. After the m a c h i n e is ccnfigured to c c m m u n i c a t e with your w i r e i e s s a c c e s s pcint/rcuter, c o m p u t e r s
a n d m c h i l e d e v i c e s on your network wiil h a v e a c c e s s to the m a c h i n e . T o u s e the m a c h i n e from a computer, y c u
will n e e d to install the printer driver. T h e fcliowing s t e p s wili guide y c u through the ccnfiguraticn a n d instaiiation
p r o c e s s .

• If y c u a r e going to c c n n e c t the m a c h i n e to your network, w e r e c o m m e n d that y c u contact your s y s t e m
administrator prior to instaiiation. Y c u m u s t k n e w your w i r e i e s s network settings h e f c r e y c u p r o c e e d with this
installation.
• If you h a v e previously configured the w i r e l e s s settings of the m a c h i n e , y c u m u s t r e s e t the network ( L A N )
settings h e f c r e y c u c a n configure the w i r e l e s s settings a g a i n .

• T o a c h i e v e optimum results with normal e v e r y d a y d o c u m e n t printing, p l a c e the Brother m a c h i n e a s c l o s e to
the w i r e i e s s a c c e s s pcint/rcuter a s p c s s i h i e with minimal c h s t r u c t i c n s . L a r g e c h j e c t s a n d w a l l s h e t w e e n the
two d e v i c e s a s well a s interference from ether electronic d e v i c e s c a n affect the d a t a transfer s p e e d of your
d o c u m e n t s .
Due to t h e s e factors, w i r e l e s s m a y not h e the h e s t method of c c n n e c t l c n for all t y p e s of d o c u m e n t s a n d
appiicatlcns. If y c u a r e printing large files, s u c h a s multi-page d o c u m e n t s with mixed text a n d large g r a p h i c s ,
y c u m a y w a n t to c o n s i d e r c h e e s i n g wired E t h e r n e t for a f a s t e r d a t a transfer or U S B for the f a s t e s t throughput
s p e e d .
• Although the Brother H L - 5 4 7 0 D W ( T ) a n d H L - 6 1 8 0 D W ( T ) c a n h e u s e d in hcth a wired a n d w i r e l e s s network,
only o n e of the c c n n e c t l c n methods c a n h e u s e d at a time.
