PRE-OP CHECK OUT
Prior to each use, the vest should be given a thorough visual
inspection and function test.
1.
Fully inflate the vest and set aside for 30 minutes; loss of firmness
indicates leakage, which must be corrected before use.
2.
Ensure that all stitched together components are not separating.
3.
Check that the oral inflator properly functions by depressing
inflator button and exhale into the mouthpiece.
4.
Remove the CO
cartridges and inspect both actuators. Ensure both

actuators operate correctly by pulling the knob to operate the actuat-
ing lever and checking that the piercing pin travels up and down. Re-
turn the actuating lever to the firing position prior to re-threading the
CO
cartridge into the actuator.

NOTE:
Ensure the actuator is free of debris and the CO
tridge washer is in place prior to re-installing the CO

Perform a function check on the over pressure relief valve (OPRV)
by fully inflating the vest and then squeezing the vest to ensure the
OPRV opens allowing air to escape. Next, push the deflator button to
ensure the dump valve is correctly working by allowing air to escape
(See Fig. 3).
NOTE:
Over pressure relief valve (OPRV) will actuate when the
pressure inside the vest exceeds 2.5 - 3.5 PSI (0.17 - 0.24 BAR)
greater than external pressure.

POST-OP MAINTENANCE
Proper maintenance will provide for years of reliable service. The
Rescue Swimmer Vest should be stored away from direct sunlight.
1.
After each use, soak the exterior of the
vest with fresh water.
2.
Detach HABD / SEA pocket (optional)
and fresh water rinse all components

Open storage pocket and fresh water
rinse. Ensure the hook and loop fabric
is clean from all debris (See Fig. 5).
