Unplug from the power

supply, and remove

from the aquarium.

It is only necessary to remove solid waste from the

sponge. Do not over clean the sponge. If you are

gentle when cleaning your sponges, they will remain

useful for a long time.

Check that the spray bar and intake strainer are

clear of debris. If required, clean them with a soft

brush or sponge before reassembly.

Filter Maintenance

Separate the sponge

casing from the motor.

Grasp the motor with

rinse gently into a bucket

of aquarium water to

flush out solid waste.

Use a Pipe

Brush* to

clean all pipes

and fittings

impeller and

well.

Replace the sponge

and carbon cartridge

into the filter and

reassemble.

Discard the water.

The carbon cartridge

should be replaced every

6-8 weeks or more often

as required.

A small pair of pliers

can help grip the

impeller and make it

easier to remove.
