Changing a PC's IP Subnet
1. You must be the administrator on the PC/laptop.
2. On your PC/laptop, select Start > Control Panel > Network
Connections.
3. Right-click your Local Area Connection and select
Properties.
4. Click Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click Properties.
5. Select Use the following IP address (This will deselect
Obtain an IP address automatically).
6. To the right of the IP address, enter the new IP address:
192.168.1.235.
7. Press tab. The subnet mask will show as 255.255.255.0.
8. Click OK to exit the window.
9. Reboot the PC/laptop if necessary. The PC/laptop can now
log onto the NC377.
Changing the NC377's User Name & Password
The NC377's user name and password are alphanumeric with a
maximum length of 11 characters and no spaces.
1. Select the Change Programming Authentication Settings
button at the bottom of the NC377's Global Settings screen.
2. The Change User Name / Password screen will appear.
3. Enter the new user name and password. Then click Set
Programming Authentication Settings.
4. The new user name and password will take effect the next
time you log onto the NC377.
5. Save this information in a secure place. If it is lost, it will be
impossible to log onto the NC377.
The same procedure is used to change the Reporting screen's
user name and password.

SD Card Use
Removing the SD Card from the NC377
1. Remove power from the NC377.
2. Remove the four screws holding the top cover on and set
the cover and screws aside.
3. Locate the main processor board in the middle of the
motherboard.
4. Gently push the card in. It will snap back out, and then
you can remove it.
Copying Files from the SD Card
Copying files from the SD card to a PC is for storage only.
Do not use a PC to read or modify the files.
1. The PC must have an SD card reader. If the PC does not
include one, purchase one locally and connect it to the
PC via USB.
2. Insert the SD card in the card reader. Microsoft Win-
®
dows
will recognize the card as a removable drive and
assign it a drive letter.
3. Create a directory on the PC. Then drag and drop the
directories from the SD card into the new directory on the
PC.
Reinstalling the SD Card into the NC377 (Figure 12)
1. After all directories have been copied, remove the SD
card from the PC's SD card reader.
2. Insert the SD card into the holder on the NC377's main
processor board with the contacts facing up. Gently
push the SD card in until you feel the card click in.
3. Replace the cover and four screws. Apply power to the
NC377.
• To build a crossover cable, wire one end T568A and wire the
other end T568B, using 8P8C connectors (see Figure 13).
• To build a straight-through cable, wire both ends T568B,
using 8P8C connectors (see Figure 13).
• Refer to your paging transmitter manual for instructions on
building an RS232 cable, if needed.
