What bearers can the HD-IP450 use to transmit video to EdgeVis Server?
The HD-IP450 includes an inbuilt 4G/LTE cellular modem for efficient streaming over commercially available cellular
networks. It can also transmit using its inbuilt LAN port or Wi-Fi module. EdgeVis optimises its transmission to the
characteristics of the bearer that it is being used to maximise performance.
What camera power requirements can the HD-IP450 support?
The HD-IP450 features Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) Class 0 ports and is therefore capable of supporting IP cameras
with up to approximately 15W power consumption per camera. Non-PoE cameras require a separate power supply.
Note: The HD-IP450 ships with a 75W power supply, which may not be powerful enough to supply PoE to all four
cameras (if each is using close to the maximum 15W supported). Digital Barriers can supply a higher wattage power
supply for those customers who require more power than the 75W can supply – contact your supplier for further
details.
How does EdgeVis Server licensing work in relation to the HD-IP450?
The EdgeVis Server licensing model is based on the number of cameras connected to the encoder. An HD-IP450 unit
therefore requires up to eight encoder licences for licensing purposes (if all eight cameras are being utilised). These
licences must either be of type EdgeVis Lite, Enhanced or Enterprise, depending on the feature set desired.
What storage options are supported on the HD-IP450?
To sustain extended usage, it is recommended that a robust enterprise-class 2.5" hard disk drive (HDD) or solid-state
drive (SSD) be used. The latter is particularly recommended for vehicle-based deployments with constant vibration. It
should be noted that the maximum height of an HDD device is limited to 9.5mm.
