3.2.1
Ready to start condition
For ship acceptance tests, the following components are assembled for a joint test and are
tested together.
● Power section of the drive
● Control cabinet of the drive
● Excitation unit
● Cooling unit of the test station
Before the following tests can be performed, the system stated above must be in perfect
condition.
3.2.2
Excitation unit
Fundamentals
An excitation unit is required for synchronous machines. Because no synchronous machine is
available, the ability to function is demonstrated based on a resistive load.
Test procedure
1. The auxiliary voltage is present.
2. The operating software is in online mode.
3. The excitation unit is switched on.
Result
The test is passed if the excitation unit can be operated without errors.

Auxiliary voltages
Fundamentals
Tests are performed according to DIN EN 60146-1. The auxiliary voltages are visually checked
using indicator lights or using a voltmeter.

The current electrical values are displayed on the test station computer.
