Read these instructions before using your product.

Unpack
Caution: Do not open ink cartridge packages until you are ready to
install the ink. Cartridges are vacuum packed to maintain reliability.

R emove all protective materials from the printer,
including from inside the printer.

Lower the scanner unit.

Turn on and adjust

C onnect the power cord to the back of the printer and to
an electrical outlet.

aution: Do not connect to your computer yet.

T o load legal-size paper in the ADF, you will need to
place the printer with its right side at least 4 inches (10
cm) away from the wall or any other objects.

P ress the
power button, then adjust the
control panel

Select settings

Select your language and country.
T ouch the screen to select the desired option. Press
or to see more countries.

S elect Summer if Daylight Saving Time is in effect;
otherwise, select Winter.

Select the date format.

U se the numeric keypad to set the date, then press
Done.

Select the time format (12h or 24h).

Use the numeric keypad to set the time.

Press Done when finished.
Note: You can change the date and time settings using the product's
control panel. For more information, see the online User's Guide.

Install ink cartridges
1
L ift up the scanner unit.

U npack the ink cartridges.

prevent normal operation and printing.
