Step 2: Wire and Connect AC Power

(Applicable only when using the optional low-temperature AC-DC power supply)

1. As needed, strip the DC conductors of the external, low-temperature AC-DC power supply.

2. Insert the positive and negative conductors into the appropriate terminals in the integrated terminal block plug

on the Gateway.

3. Once power is connected, the health LEDs (the large LED on the top of the Gateway and the secondary LED

on the port panel) will blink blue intermittently to indicate the device "heartbeat".

Note:

In cold storage or damp environments, leave a service loop in the DC conductors so as to prevent

moisture from wicking on the conductors and collecting on the terminal block plug (see Figure D for

an example of a service loop).

Note:

As needed, disconnect the DC conductors by depressing the white release tabs with a small

flathead screwdriver.

Step 3: Position the Antenna

1. Tighten the antenna connector (hexagonal nut) to "finger tight".

2. Position the antenna so it is pointing away from the ceiling or wall

mounting surface (see Figure C).

Step 4: Connect and Verify Ethernet Network

1. Plug the network CAT-5/CAT-5E cable into the Ethernet port on

the Gateway.

In cold storage or damp environments, leave a service loop

Note:

in the CAT-5 cable so as to prevent moisture from wicking on the

cable and collecting on the Ethernet port (see Figure D).

2. After 30 seconds, verify successful TCP/IP Ethernet connectivity

via the LED indicators on the Gateway (see Figure F):

• A blinking blue "Network" LED indicates that the Gateway has

acquired an IP address via DHCP.

• A solid blue "Network" LED indicates that the Gateway has a

static IP address.

• A solid red "Network" LED indicates that the Gateway is self-

assigning an IP address (no DHCP server reply)

• A blinking red "Network" LED indicates that the Gateway is still

obtaining an IP address.
