Antenna Selection
Cisco Wireless offers new Wi-Fi and GNSS outdoor-rated antennas to work with CM63E and future outdoor Wi-Fi APs that work in the 6 GHz band. Choose the
antenna based on the install location and designed area of coverage.
The datasheet includes a list of certified antennas. The CW9163E features tri-band antenna ports; thus, tri-band antennas should be paired with the AP. Below
is a highlight of the different antenna types and their applications. It is always best practice to consult with a Cisco SE or partner to select the best antenna for
the unique design.
Note: The 6 GHz antenna port is locked to the following antenna PIDs. Third-party antennas will not operate if inserted into the 6 GHz port. For 2.4
GHz and 5 GHz third-party antennas may be used, but the end customer/partner is responsible for ensuring the operation is within regulatory
compliance.
