the chassis, and verifying that the installation was successful.

Understanding the System Boot Process

Before you apply power to the system, it is important that you understand the boot process and how the

hardware components are brought on line.

This chapter assumes that the ASR 5000 chassis, its sub-components, as well as application and line cards

have been physically installed. The system has also been cabled to interoperate with management and

traffic networks.
