Not currently supported. If this mode is selected, line mode will be assigned.
• If [Same as copy setting] is specified in Scan & Copy mode, document will
be scanned by copier setting.
• [Black/White binary] cannot be specified when [Picture] or [Photo] is
selected.
Scan in accordance with the document quality
Even if the same scan mode is selected for the same type of image, the result may be
different when the document is irregular, the paper has color, or has been damaged. In
order to make fine adjustment, the following 4 functions are available.
– Background adjustment
– Scan density
– Sharpness
– Image type
If [Same as copy setting] is specified in Scan & Copy mode, document will
be scanned by copier setting.
Background adjustment
Sets the method to suppress unwanted background of documents. There are two
background suppression options.
If [Auto] is selected, the level of suppression can be selected in 7 levels.
If [Manual] is selected, the level of suppression can be selected in 39 levels.
Background adjustment feature adjusts only background scan result. Depending on the
image of the document, other adjustment function may need to be used simultaneously to
achieve the best image quality.
Scan density
Sets the density of the entire image in 9 levels.
Sharpness
Sets the sharpness of outline of the scanned data in 5 levels.
It is effective when moire pattern is found in scanned data.
Image type
[Black/White binary] converts image into black and white with reference to the binary
threshold. The threshold can be set between 1(White) to 255(Black).
