Using the Arpeggiator

Editing an Arpeggio

Each Arpeggio type can be edited as desired. For
example, you can apply swing feel to the Arpeggio
playback and adjust the gate time of the notes of
the Arpeggio playback sequence.
NOTE
The Arpeggio type can be edited during
playback. Note that the Arpeggio may not
play back properly if editing the Arpeggio
type during playback.
1.
Press the [ARP EDIT] button.
The LED lamp above the button lights and the
Arpeggio Edit display will appear.

Use the SELECT buttons to call up the
desired parameter.

Settings
Determines the Category of the Arpeggio type you want to call up. For
details, see page 44.
Determines the Arpeggio type you want to call up. For details, see
page 44.
Determines the playback variation of the Arpeggio. When any value other
than "Orig" is selected, you can shift the pitch up and down in octave for
the Arpeggio playback by adjusting the "OctRange" parameter.
Orig..........The original data preprogrammed in the KX will play back.
Up ............The Arpeggio of ascending notes will play.
Down........The Arpeggio of descending notes will play.
Alt1...........Alternates Up and Down arpeggios. The turnaround note is
Alt2...........Alternates Up and Down arpeggios. The turnaround note is
Rnd ..........The Arpeggio will play randomly according to the pressed
Determines the octave setting of the Arpeggio playback.
Determines the gate time of the Arpeggio notes.
Adjusts the tempo of the Arpeggio playback based on the current original
tempo. When "50%" is selected, for example, the playback time will be
halved (tempo is doubled). When "200%" is selected, on the other hand,
the playback time will be doubled (tempo is halved).
Adjusts the timing of the even-numbered back-beat notes of which the
type is specified via the SwingValue parameter to produce a swing feel.
Determines the type of note that serves as the basis for the Swing
parameter.
Determines how the velocities are applied to playback notes of the
selected Arpeggio type.
Orig..........The Arpeggio type is played back with the velocity values
Thru..........The Arpeggio type is played back with the velocity value

Use the DATA [DEC] and [INC] buttons to
change the value.
A change here is applied to playback
immediately. Editing a parameter during
Arpeggio playback lets you confirm the result
in real time.

When you are satisfied with the result, press
the [EXIT] button to return to the Control
Top display.
The settings you made here will be stored
automatically without the special operation. The
settings here will be maintained even if you turn
the power off or change the Arpeggio type.
NOTE
If you want to initialize the settings, use the
Factory Set operation as explained on
page 34.
