Recommended Camera settings For Oneshot360™
• A-Mode: When turning the CoolPix880 on, put it in "A" mode using the
mode dial.
• Zoom: Use the Zoom to exactly fill the digital camera LCD viewer screen
with the circular image. If you zoom in too much, you will lose part of the
field of view. If you zoom in too little, you will not get maximum resolution.
Note also that the OneShot360 image may not be exactly centered in the
LCD screen – this is normal.
• Flash: Make sure the flash is disabled. To change the flash setting, press
the
button, located above the monitor on the back of the camera, until
flash
you see the flash disabled icon on the LCD screen.
• Focus: Set the Focus by holding down the "m-focus" button and press
the zoom buttons. The recommended distance is 20 feet for most shots.
Note: The button for placing the camera in manual focus mode is the
same as that for setting the timer. If you want to use both the timer and a
manual focus setting, you must enable the timer first by pressing the "m-
focus" button until you see the timer icon in the LCD, and then hold the
button down and dial in the focus distance. Pressing the "m-focus" button
again will set camera back to auto focus mode.
• Aperture: Set the aperture to f7.8. This is displayed in the lower middle
portion of the color LCD. Aperture can be chosen by pressing the multi-
selector to the left or right while holding down the up-down button.
Take care to watch the shutter speed when in aperture priority mode. You will
need a tripod when the shutter speed is slower than 1/125sec in low light. The
shutter speed is displayed on the bottom of the LCD panel between the "A" mode
and the "F7.8" display.
By pressing the "MENU" button just above the color LCD screen, you will have
access to a list of additional camera settings. Use the Multi selector button to
scroll through the menu and make your selection for the following:
• White Balance: Set the White Balance to Automatic. This setting is
adequate for most shots.
• Metering: Set the Metering to Matrix Metering, this gives the best results
for OneShot360 images.
• Sharpness: Set the Sharpness value to "Normal".
