• Do not charge the unit outdoors.
• Do not allow to be used as a toy. Close attention is necessary when used by or near children.
• Use only as described in this manual. Use only manufacturer's recommended attachments.
• Do not use with damaged cord or plug. If appliance is not working as it should, has
been dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or dropped into water, return it to a service
center for inspection. Call 1-800-321-1134 for the nearest service center or visit our
website at www.dirtdevil.com.
• Do not abuse the cord. Never carry the charger or base by the cord or yank to discon-
nect from an outlet; instead grasp the charger and pull to disconnect. Keep cord away
from heated surfaces. Do not pull cord around sharp edges or corners. Do not close
door on the charger cord.
• Do not handle plug or appliance with wet hands.
• This product includes rechargeable nickel cadmium batteries. Do not incinerate bat-
teries or expose to high temperatures, as they may explode.
• Unplug the charger from the outlet before any routine cleaning or maintenance.
• Do not put any object into openings.
• Do not use with any opening blocked; keep free of dust, lint, hair, and anything that
may reduce air flow.
• Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, and all parts of body away from openings and moving parts.
• Do not pick up anything that is burning or smoking, such as cigarettes, matches, or hot ashes.
• Do not use without filters in place.
• Turn off all controls before unplugging.
• Use extra care when cleaning on stairs.
• Do not use to pick up flammable or combustible liquids such as gasoline or use in
areas where they may be present.
• Leaks from battery cells can occur under extreme conditions. If the liquid, which is 20-35%
solution of potassium hydroxide, gets on the skin (1) wash quickly with soap and water or (2)
neutralize with a mild acid such as lemon juice or vinegar. If the liquid gets into the eyes, flush
them immediately with clean water for a minimum of 10 minutes. Seek medical attention.
• Use only the charger supplied by the manufacturer to recharge.

STORAGE/CHARGING
TOOL REQUIRED: SCREWDRIVER AND DRILL
A. CHARGING/STORAGE BASE
• Designed to sit in the charging base on a flat surface (Diagram 1) or mount
vertically (Diagram 2).
• For tidy storage, wrap excess cord on the back of the charging base and exit
at either side or out the bottom.
TO WALL MOUNT:
1. Place charging base against the mounting surface. Mark the centers of the holes.
2. Move base, then drill a 3/16" hole through the center of the marks.
3. Push plastic wall anchor into the drilled hole.
4. Be sure marked location is correct before drilling the second hole (adjust if
necessary). Drill second hole and install other wall anchor.
5. Match up holes in storage base to wall anchors and insert screws. Be sure
cord exits from one of the cord slots on the storage base.
6. Tighten the screws to hold the base flush to the mounting surface.
B. UNIT STORAGE
1. Hold the unit by the handle and push down firmly onto the charging base.
2. Be sure the red charging light is on.
C. CHARGING
NOTE: Use only the charger supplied by the manufacturer to recharge.
IMPORTANT: BEFORE FIRST USE, CHARGE YOUR UNIT FOR AT LEAST 6 HOURS.
• Power switch must be in the OFF position.
• Keep the charger plugged into a standard outlet at all times. It is normal for
the charger to become warm to the touch when charging.
• If the operating time gets shorter after repeated use, let the unit run until it
stops running. Recharge for 6 hours and repeat monthly for best results.
• Charging light turns off when Hand Vac is fully charged.
HOW TO USE
TO USE: Slide the power switch to the ON position.
TO TURN UNIT OFF: Slide the power switch to the OFF position.
• Empty and clean the unit and filter after each use or after large pickups when the unit
becomes full.
ATTACHMENTS
The crevice tool is permanently stored on-board. It is located on the top of the dust cup for your convenience.

DIRT CUP: REMOVAL & REPLACEMENT

REGULAR MAINTENANCE: Each time the dirt cup is emptied, the filter should be cleaned. Tap the filter firmly
against the inside of a trash can until the dirt stops falling from the filter. (Filter will be discolored after use. This
will not affect the filter's performance.) Do not brush the filter. The cleaning instructions may vary depending on
the dirt condiitions. In some cases, more or less cleaning or the filter may be required.

A. BASE DE CHARGEMENT/RANGEMENT
• Conçu pour être placé dans la base de chargement sur une surface plane
(diagramme 1) ou pour une installation verticale (diagramme 2).
• Pour bien ranger l'appareil, enroulez le cordon à l'arrière de la base de
chargement et faites-le ressortir d'un côté ou de l'autre ou par le dessous.
MONTAGE MURAL :
1. Placez la base de chargement contre la surface de montage. Marquez le centre des trous.
2. Retirez la base et percez un trou de 3/16 pouce au centre des marques.
3. Insérez des douilles d'ancrage de plastique dans les trous.
4. Assurez-vous que les emplacements marqués soient exacts avant de percer le
second trou (procédez à des ajustements si nécessaire). Percez le second
trou et installez la deuxième douille d'ancrage.
5. Faites coïncider les trous de la base de rangement avec les douilles d'ancrage
®
replacement parts.

6. Serrez les vis afin que la base repose bien contre la surface de montage.
B. RANGEMENT DE L'APPAREIL
1. Tenez l'appareil par la poignée et poussez-le fermement vers le bas dans la base
de chargement.
2. Veillez à ce que le voyant lumineux rouge soit allumé.
C. CHARGEMENT
REMARQUE : Pour recharger l'appareil, utilisez uniquement les chargeurs
fournis par le fabricant.
IMPORTANT : AVANT DE L'UTILISER POUR LA PREMIÈRE FOIS, CHARGEZ
VOTRE APPAREIL PENDANT AU MOINS 6 HEURES.
• L'interrupteur doit être en position ARRÊT.
• Laissez le chargeur branché à une prise standard en permanence. Il est
normal que le chargeur chauffe pendant le chargement.
• Si la durée de fonctionnement raccourcit après un usage répété, laissez l'appareil en marche jusqu'à ce qu'il s'arrête de lui-
même. Rechargez-le ensuite pendant 6 heures et répétez la procédure tous les mois pour obtenir de meilleurs résultats.
• Le voyant de charge s'éteint lorsque l'aspirateur à main est complètement chargé.

• Videz et nettoyez l'appareil et le filtre après chaque utilisation ou lorsque l'appareil est plein, après avoir
aspiré de grandes quantités de poussière.
