Neutral Density Filters
There is a neutral density filter within the XC15. It is in the Set Up
Menu on page 1. This built-in filter is an ND .9 filter, meaning it
reduces the light coming into the camera by 3 F stops (example: F 8
becomes F 2.8).
Additionally, you will find a set of 3 / 58mm Neutral Density Filters in
a pouch included in the camera case. These filters can be screwed
onto the front of the lens.
The ND. 6 cuts out 2 stops, the ND.9 cuts out 3 stops and the ND
1.2 cuts out 4 stops of light. You can use these in conjunction with
the internal neutral density filter.
Neutral density filters are an important tool for cinematographers
when shooting day exteriors, and adjusting depth of field.
