Chapter 4: Maintaining The DR
Regular maintenance is the way to ensure the best performance and long life of your machine. Please refer to this Chapter for
maintenance procedures.
Always remove the Battery Pack before performing any maintenance, or repairs to your Hedge Trimmer.
Blade Lubrication
The Blade Set is made from high quality hardened steel. With normal usage;
they will not require re-sharpening. However, if you accidentally hit a wire fence,
stones, glass, or other hard objects, you may put a nick in the Blade Set. There
is no need to remove this nick as long as it does not interfere with the
movement of the Blade Set. If it does interfere, make sure to remove the Battery
Pack from the Hedge Trimmer and use a Fine-Toothed File or Sharpening Stone
to remove the nick
Supplies Needed:
Light Weight Machine Oil
Before each use, remove any debris on the Blade Set and apply lightweight
machine oil along the Contact Points of the Top and Bottom Blades (Figure 11).
Make sure the Handles remain clean and dry of Oil.
