Elevation
The elevator consists of a frame which is
locked in place by two horizontal bars on
the front of the battery compartment. (see
Fig:10). It has two side channels, which
each contain two drive belts, and an
elevator carriage, which contains the drive
system. The carriage drives itself up and
down the belts controlled by the DCB.
a) Operation
The seat is mounted on a cradle on the
elevator carriage. The DCB control cable is
plugged into the left side of the elevator
carriage, and the cable from the main servo
is plugged into the right side to provide power. With the DCB turned on, the user can press
the yellow or green buttons to take the seat up or down the elevator. The green button
takes you down and the yellow button takes you up.
Elevator Tilt
Bracket
It may be necessary to wriggle the the elevator slightly, once one side is connected, to
make sure that the other side clicks home properly.
To begin with, practice doing this without a seat, as this will reduce the weight. Then try
with the empty seat attached. Dragonmobility do not recommend adjusting the tilt angle
with the seat occupied because the attendant will need to counterbalance the weight of
the user and seat while the lock is undone and there is no safety catch. It is best to adjust
the tilt with an empty seat and then allow the user to return to the seat.

b) Tilt
The angle of the seat can be altered
according to the position of the elevator
lock at the bottom between the front drive
wheels. The lock consists of a retractable
bar at the base of the elevator which
connects on each side to one of the
opposing pairs of holes in the two brackets
attached to the main chassis (Fig:11).
To alter the tilt angle, pull the black knob
(Fig 10) at the back of the elevator to
release the lock, and manually adjust the
angle to the appropriate position. Make
sure that both sides are connected.
