Note: The water pump may be very noisy during first use as air is removed from the

system.

• When the tank has emptied, empty and wash the containers used to collect the

water.

The appliance is now ready to use.

Pre-heating

Pre-heating the appliance and cups will ensure the best conditions for making

coffee.

• Fill the tank with fresh, cold drinking water and ensure the switch positions are

set as identified in the Initial positions section identified on the previous page.

• Place the one or two cup coffee basket (R, S), as required, into the Portafilter (G)

without coffee.

• Align the Porta Filter locations with the appliance at the insert location.

• Raise the porta filter and rotate it anti-clockwise until it is locked in position (Fig

• Place the coffee cup underneath the Portafilter (G).

• Connect the plug to the power outlet and press the ON/OFF button down to turn

the appliance on. The power lamp will be illuminated.

• Press down the pump control switch (B) to the lower, "P" position. When there is

water flowing out of the Portafilter, switch the pump off by pressing and release

the pump control button.

• With the coffee/steam button in the upper <<Coffee>> position the water will be

heated until the temperature ready indicator (E) is illuminated.

• Press down the pump control switch (B) to pump hot water through the

appliance into the coffee cup.

• When the coffee cup is full of hot water, stop the pump. The cup should be

emptied and replaced on the drip tray. The pre-heating has been completed.
