Proper use

•

This product is intended to decorate outside areas around the

house, terrace, balcony and garden. The rechargeable battery

charges during the daytime via the solar cell ﬁ eld. The accumulated

energy allows the LED lights to illuminate at night.

•

The product is designed for private use and is not intended for

commercial use. Only use the product as instructed. Any other use

is deemed improper. Store the instructions in a safe place.

Safety and care instructions

Risks of injury

❐ Risk of suffocation! Keep the packaging material away from children

and animals.

❐ Children must be under supervision to ensure that they do not

play with the product. They could injure themselves with the tip of

the ground spikes, among other things.

❐ Batteries and rechargeable batteries may be life threatening if

swallowed. Therefore keep the rechargeable batteries and product

out of the reach of children and animals. If a rechargeable battery

has been swallowed, seek immediate medical attention.

❐ If a rechargeable battery has leaked, ensure that the battery acid

does not come into contact with your skin, eyes, and mucous

membranes. In the event of contact with the battery acid, rinse the

affected areas instantly with plenty of clean water and immediately

consult a physician.

Handling the rechargeable battery properly

❐ Before inserting a new rechargeable battery, check whether the

contacts in the product and those on the rechargeable battery are

clean and if necessary, clean them.

❐ Only use the rechargeable battery type speciﬁ ed in the technical

data.

❐ When changing the rechargeable battery make sure the polarity is

correct (+ / –).

❐ Remove the rechargeable battery from the product if it is empty or

if you are not using the product for an extended period. This way,

you can avoid damages attributed to a leak.

❐ Immediately remove a leaky rechargeable battery from the product.

Clean the contacts before you insert a new rechargeable battery.

❐ The rechargeable battery may not be charged or reactivated with

other means, disassembled, disposed of in ﬁ re, immersed in a liquid

or short-circuited.

The right location

❐ Set the product up in a place where the solar ﬁ eld is exposed to

direct sunlight the entire day if possible (at least 8 hours – ideally,

in open areas and not underneath trees).

❐ Do not place the solar unit near artiﬁ cial light sources (e. g. street

lamps) as the sensor may react to the artiﬁ cial light and this may

considerably affect the luminance of the solar lights.

Handling the product properly

❐ Check the product for damage prior to each use. The product may

not be used if it exhibits visible damages. Do not attempt to repair

the product or to replace parts yourself. In the event of damage,

contact the customer service department.

❐ In the event of extreme weather conditions (e. g. storm, hail) or

if you do not intend to use the product for a prolonged period of

time, turn the solar unit off and store the product in a dry place.

❐ Never submerge the product in water or other liquids! It is only

splash-proof.

❐ Do not allow the product to fall and do not subject it to severe

percussions.

❐ Ensure that the solar ﬁ eld is always clean in order to ensure the

greatest possible collection of light. For this reason, clean the solar

cell ﬁ eld occasionally with a damp cloth.

❐ Do not use corrosive or abrasive cleaning products or cleaning

pads to clean the product in order to prevent material damage.

Warranty

Defects arising due to improper handling, damage or attempts at repair

are excluded from the warranty. This also applies to normal wear and

tear.

Activation and deactivation

•

Set the switch on the bottom of the solar unit to the ON position

to activate the solar unit.

•

Set the switch back to the OFF position to turn off the solar unit.

Start-up

The rechargeable battery of the solar unit must charge for

approximately 8 hours in order for the LEDs to illuminate.

1. Unpack the product contents and remove any protective foils and

stickers. Check all parts for damages from transport. Should you

identify any transport damages, please promptly consult customer

service.

2. Connect a ground spike with each lower pole part and then the

lower pole parts with the upper pole parts.

3. Turn the solar unit on by moving the switch on the back of the

solar unit to the ON position.

4. Insert the solar lights with the ground spikes in the ground. When

setting up the unit, observe the notes in the chapter "Safety and

care instructions", section "The right location". Make sure that the

lights are securely anchored in the soil.

5. Fold down the solar unit and align the solar ﬁ eld with the sun.

Sunlight will now charge the rechargeable battery. At dusk, the LEDs

will automatically turn on. At dawn, the LEDs will turn off and the

rechargeable battery will be recharged via the solar ﬁ eld.

Changing the rechargeable battery

1. Use a suitable screw driver to loosen the screws on the back of

the solar unit.

2. Remove the rechargeable battery and replace it with a new one

(1.2 V DC, type AAA).

3. Close the battery compartment and screw the screws back into

place.

Disposal

manner. The product does not belong in the household

garbage. Dispose of it at a recycling centre for old electric

and electrical equipment. For more information, please

contact the administration in your community.

The rechargeable battery must be removed and disposed

of separately before disposing of the product. To protect

the environment, batteries and rechargeable batteries may

not be disposed of together with normal household waste.

Instead they must be turned in at appropriate collection

points. Please also observe applicable statutory provisions

regulating the disposal of batteries.
